Im going to be moving house soon, meaning that i wont have a garage (dont have one anyway) but more importantly i wont be able to install a ground anchor.

I had my last Africa Twin stolen when i didn't lock it up one (1!) night. Since then i haven't let any of my bikes out out of my sight when left somewhere.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for parking a bike on the pavement / on the road overnight?

Covers? Disk Locks? Chains?

Hmm…I wouldn’t be too happy with leaving it exposed, no matter how many locks where on it. What I would suggest is going to your local council or other wise (ask at your local Town Hall too) and seeing about putting your name on some sort of council garage list. Just note; that our council garages were took over by a "private" firm and no longer in the councils hands.

I had one for years, and was over a mile from the house!! and you don’t have to have to live in a council house either, just pay VAT, to get one.

http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/ try and lock it to a lamp post or towing hook of a car(yours and leave a note in it!) Take a wheel out,seat off or similar, extreme but.... B) Trouble is if you dont lock it to something then it can be carried off. There are flush fitting security posts that you can pull up at night. Rhino is a brand but there are loads to choose from, we install them as anti ram posts, etc.

The problem is there isn't anything to lock the bike to in visible distance of the property!

Personally I'd be getting a tracker on it AND smart watered!
It would do my head in having to leave it out on the road! :S

The sound of a flush fitting security post is a good idea too.

Unfortunately not, there is no access round the back and it wont fit through the front door.

You'll probably need to back it up with a big dog if it bleeps in the middle of the night
