Had a fantastic few hours on the Yorkshire trails around Holmfith and Penistone. Snow and ice added to the fun.
Riders were....
me (KTM 950) - 2 falls
KTM Blag (KTM 640) - 1 drop
Felco (XTZ 660) - didnt try hard enough as he seemed to stay on 2 wheels...apart from when he popped an amazing wheelie!!!!!
Ralph (Africa Twin) - 3 falls. And a bit of damage!
Pig Ugly (Trans Rat) - 2 falls
TenBob (KTM Enduro) - 2 falls
Set off from Ingbirchwood and did a few trails. 1st trail was slippy uphill thick mud. Think we all went up sideways. Fantastic set of trails to begin with. Then found a quarry to play in before doing the ford crossing at Penistone. Then onto some fast trails and headed out towards Holmfirth. Then the snow started and it was great fun doing trails in the snow. Very slippy and a few offs.
Last trail was Ramsden Road, very snowy and icy) before we stared to go our seperate ways. Me and Blag headed across Holme Moss to Woodhead. Snow got thicker on the road and at the bottom there was a closed road sign. Ah well...we made it in one piece. And Id come over this pass the evening before and it had been snow free on the road.
Great day. Really enjoyed it. A few pics.

Re: Snow Trails Yorkshire
Sorry I missed this one - looked absolutely fantastic. Bet the quarry was great.
Ramsden Road is a challenge even in summer.
Well done guys - should be some BBRR stickers for that run

Lots of arse clenching ice on the way down. Did it uphill yesterday on my run over and got half way up before the rear lost grip. Luckily a 4x4 stopped and gave me a push up. Wouldnt have managed without the push.AckAckFlack wrote: Ramsden Road is a challenge even in summer.

Would have been a long way to come, we were only out for about 4.5 hours but the trails were really good. Did some I hadnt done before so the route was a lot better than I thought it would be. Plus we didnt do all the trails in the area so theres more scope for next time.Tyrant68 wrote:Fantastic photos Mike, wish I had travelled up now.

In the summer we would have flown round. It was the snowy conditions that made the day more fun and challenging.
Re: Snow Trails Yorkshire
