Not too many in this category for me but this is one I just didn't gel with - Honda 750f2. Strange really as I had a 550 and loved it, 2x 400/4s and wouldn't sell the one I currently have but the 750 just didn't work for me. Sold it within a couple of weeks

The only other bike that's come close was my one and only BMW - a 750ST

Norton Commando 750. Without doubt the worst bike I ever owned. Problem after problem and all of them common place at the time. My mates on Jap bikes had a field day. 11 months of constant failure.

Interesting - had a similar experience with a Norton Commando. Bought a Honda 550 four and loved it - then bought the 750 (F1) and hated it.

I wanted to buy a Yam XS 850 Shaft but the bank manager refused me a loan. However, a second option was a Triumph T140D, to which the bank manager approved the loan (wanted something different to calm me down)

Had endless problems and failures with the bike spending more of it's 6 months ownership off the road and back and to the dealers - they suspected it may have been a Friday Afternoon bike as so many problems happening.

In the end the engine went bang in a big way after 4300 miles - traded it in as a non runner for a 2nd hand CX500 that was thrashed for 35000 miles and never batted an eyelid

Glad I sold my GS500E and my DR-Z400S because they were one-off nightmares both of them. I'd buy both types of bike again as the problems I had were undecipherable to the mechanics I took them to so I (hopefully) wouldn't be plagued with those same problems again.

Only one bike I'd steer completely clear of and that's the BMW R850 I owned for a while. Completely horrible to ride, uninspiring engine, heavy clutch, neutral would often refuse to be found where it was supposed to be and at other times escaped to live between other gears, needlessly heavy, flimsy-looking side stand and a strange feel to the front end. On the other hand it was very comfy once on the move, but the clutch spoiled the town/city riding in my opinion. I'm sure its mother loved it though and maybe its just not my cuppa tea  I know a lot of people love them and consider them good bikes.

Well.....i had a 350LC :pinch: wonderful when it was singing on tune, but it had a habit of blowing up on a regular basis (its funny how you're always quicker with the clutch the second and subsequent times  ) it may have had something to do with the $hite oil i used to put in it.

Got rid and bought an FZR400SP imported thingy, thinking that 4 stroke was the way to go. It certainly never blew up but squeezing my 6ft odd frame into it was murder, brakes were gash, the redline was somewhere up in the clouds and then i chucked up the road and into a field of cows. Fixed it up but it never felt the same, probably my bottle rather than the bike but i was happy to get shot of it for a new ZX-6R.
