I’m going to post mainly pictures in this ride report as pictures speak a thousand words and I’m not that good with the old key board, but if anyone wants more info just let me know
Nicky and myself last went to Morocco in 2007 which was 90% tarmac riding
Nicky on her V-strom in 2007
I’ve been lucky this year, as this was my second trip to Morocco
A few pictures of my trip to Morocco in April with Mark here and Video here
This trip was in late September where we started our trip in Morocco by crossing into Tanger as it was a late crossing we just rode out of town and found a hotel
This is Nicky’s bike for the trip a KTM 690
Now I’m absolutely no expert when it comes to bike travel or Morocco but my tip if your planning off tarmac riding is to pack as light as you can. I will not be taking a tent again, just too many very cheap places to stay. In April we only camped twice and this time we didn’t both. But can under stand there’s people who want to experience camping in the desert
We managed to get our person kit in 2 Kriega us 20s each, the roll bag had a two man tent, 2 sleeping bag and roll mats
Our first day was a tarmac ride down to Fez only day we had our jackets on as it was a little on the hot side
We stayed in the Ibis in Fez great bike parking and had a pool to cool off in after a hot day’s ride
Not far out of Fez is where the adventure began for me and some unsealed roads
Nicky having a rest after what turned out to be some testing roads
After follow the unsealed road we found where the monkeys hang out
We weren’t the only bikes to stop for a break at this spot
With roads like this you can see why there was lots of bikes around
We were heading for Midelt but stopped of to meet some locals
We stayed in a nice hotel just outside Midelt
Off to the dunes next

Big thanks for your replys boys
Next day after some great food and a good nights sleep we headed for Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi sand dunes
Now that looks like great fun we both said when we get too old for the bikes we will move on to 4 wheels
You can just see the dunes
We stayed at a hotel over looking the dunes, you can see someone having a play at night
Next morning we started riding at 6.30am as its so much cooler, today was a play day as we were returning to the same hotel it gave us a chance to enjoy the bikes without luggage
Shade is your friend when having a rest
Great to see how people live there life’s
Can’t go all the way to the dunes and not have a play that would be rude
More to follow
