Looks nice. I had one for tail riding about 20 years ago. I found it a bit top heavy but it was still good enough. Shame they can't fit a 6th gear in it, though.

Its a shame its not 6 speed.

Wise move to relaunch that...look at the success of the relatively crude offerings from Enfield and Triumph in that market.

It's all about lightweight singles in the UK now...I think we've finally had enough of big BMWs.

As someone who has gotten used to changing two gears at a time, five gear gearbox might be an improvement.

I am confident it will have the same ratios unfortunately....

I am using an old DRZ regularly, I like them, but would hesitate to buy a new one if its just the same essentially (apart from fuel injection)

It's amazing, amusing even, how the fortunes have varied, of bike design.. dual sport, adventure, trail, size and power, light agile.. etc.

Move towards.. big/powerful.. use of road bike engines in dual sport .. retro on road, and same in trail .. but now, seeing the success of the older dual sport bikes, the reintroduction of almost exact copies of the older classics.

A recent video showed how the drz (old one) easily kept up with the new ktm350excf through difficult desert terrain. The lighter/more powerful/less sustainable movement is being outflanked by the heavier but more common-sense designs .... price being a major factor too.

Seems like, they've tried everything.. and don't really know what to do next?

We all know what's needed .. a modern bike that will do it all .. lighter, more powerful, carry luggage, 6 gears, adjustable seat, adjustable suspension, great suspension, excellent and lasting tyres that can be easily repaired on trails, will do roads and difficult trails without vibration, etc .. and have a reasonable or bargain basement price ...

Ha Ha .. Of course, all that is possible in one bike .... except the last chriterium .. Price.

Given that they tell us youngsters are no longer interested in sweating on muddy wet trails, breaking their legs, or getting dizzy from long endurance inter continental travel on two flimsy wheels, .. r and d research ,, facing the cost of living, and grasping banks, ... welll ...
