Ok folks, not long now.

Some additional info for those attending.

Unfortunately the on site restaurant does not open until May:(, however the bar will be open for business:)

There are plenty of eateries in Glengarriff village, just up the road from the site - Caseys Hotel has been recommended by the campsite - they have also advised to book in advance if you wish to eat there (or any of the other eateries in the village).

There is also a service station in the village - so perhaps after a Friday/ Saturday ride , arrange to eat in the village, fill up the bike and retire to the campsite bar for the remainder of the evening - choice is yours.

The usual campsite rules apply
Respectful level of noise
No fires (unless in a pit)
Dogs to be kept on a leash

Useful site to look over prior to your arrival

See you all soon & safe travels

That is very useful about the restaurant.

Walk distance is 2 to 3 km depending on venue. There are lots of places in Glengariffe.

Is it feasible to organise a group dinner? I do recall this was what we had at my last ABR? Since we already have breakfast included would the same space be available? One event I went to [not ABR] we were told just bring our takeways to the bar and enjoy them and it was a great idea and kept everyone together.

The camp kitchen also seems to get good ratings.

But then a thought..is there simple bar food that may well be just what we need?

How many have we overall?

Hello Olaf,

We are trying to make it as flexible as possible.

Trying to organise a sit down meal is quite difficult - it's hard to please everybody - last year for example we did not get the minimum number for the meal - so it ended up costing everybody a little bit extra.

Everybody will have the option of ending up in the campsite bar after they decide where they want to dine.

Latest information from the campsite is that 20 have paid for pitches so far.

I agree 100% on trying to organise dinners for groups. I spent a lot of time doing that and organising functions, its a headache and thankless.

If we have 20 and there is a kitchen maybe we can work something out.

I am planning to bring my trailer as my friend is bringing a bike without much kit due to recent hip surgery so I am bringing extra for him. I may well pack in a bbq. I am keeping a weather eye open at the moment to see what the options are.

I had been watching the weather map so not travelling tonight but leaving early in the morning from Cork, travelling west to Bantry via Bandon Enniskeane Dunmanway then on to Glengarriffe.

Anyone travelling early? What routes?

One of my friends had to pull out and as his trip is already paid for I have a prepaid ticket available for Friday and Saturday night, includes camping and breakfasts.

If you have booked and not paid yet you can use this.

I couldnt resist this photo. What a great weekend and perfect weather. Hopefully everyone has reached home safely.

As for me, I went home via the Healy Pass and made it before the rain kicked in.

Thanks for all the work and a very enjoyable weekend and excellent route planning.

For those who are curious about trailers. I enjoyed a very spirited run to Kenmare when I left on Sunday morning. I took the Healy Pass and seemingly left a rather impressed sport bike rider who asked many questions about trailers after seeing how my set up handled the twisties. Converted!

Met up with a mate who had come in on the ferry from Dublin

Friday, my mate wanted to visit the Waterford Crystal Museum & HD shop - so we would meet back up in Glanfarriff later in the day. I made my way X country to Killarney, then down to Glengarriff from there - no rain
