Alternative mirrors for bikes with handguards?

Post by DavidS »

I have cut and pasted my KTM Forum post….

There is a suggestion that the wind noise while riding the Norden is from the existing mirrors, not the screen.

Other than the tiny underbar/bar end mirrors, which are too small for decent road use, has anyone got an alternative that are maybe lower but still give a decent rear view?
Obviously, bar end mirrors won’t work.

I have found these:

They need to have the guard frame drilled but look decent enough.
Or these:

I assume they will fit the Husky, even if adapters are needed.

I buy the folding mirrors from Wemoto. fold them down and out slightly, and the 'dirty' airflow is further from your ears

Thanks Richard.
Found these and cheap enough to try.

EDIT
I can always put them on my 690 instead of the mini underbar ones that I’m finding more difficult to use.

Well….
Removing the mirrors doesn’t help AND creates more turbulence on my chest.
Time to try taped on tops or sides.

We can ignore this topic now unless others want to use it.

Interesting....does the Norden have shaped mirror heads or plain round ones?

They're round. I've never experienced turbulence on my Norden with either the standard or the expedition screen. That includes riding in some high cross winds. Wind noise certainly, especially with the stands screen, but not turbulence. That said at 5'6" I'm probably one of the shorter riders found on a Norden.
Just along for the ride.

I love the look of the Rottweiler Quick Flip mirrors ... but have never seen them up close
