Tamar Classic Trial: Sunday 22 October

Post by Richard Simpson Mark II »

Once again an opportunity to see an eclectic assortment of motorcycles, outfits and cars tackle lanes and sections in East Cornwall and West Devon.

See us off from Maunders Yard in Launceston from 8 am.

Spectator highlights include the infamous Angel Steps (WTW: pampering eternity latches) from 13.00 hrs, Lee Quarry (ruffle invent repaying) from 12.50, and Warleggan (coffee search lotteries) from 08.50. I rode Angel Steps back in early Summer, and it was slippery enough then!

Park carefully so as not to obstruct the trial or other traffic.

One brave soul has entered on a KTM 890, there is a pair of magnificent Rickman Triumphs, and there's me on a Beta X-trainer riding number 36...I'm unlikely to be taking a trophy home but give us a wave anyway

Have fun--the X trainer should see you clean everything.

Sadly, it's somewhat handicapped by the somewhat handicapped rider. :D

However, I did finish third in the Debyshire Daylight Class of the MCC 's Edinburgh Trial earlier this month (there were only six in the class, which was a help)

I'm 57 seconds in, riding 325. Unlike most of the other folk, I had a good night's sleep and set off. Most of the rest had done 100 miles of trails and trials through the darkness.

There's also a very interesting electric Royal Enfield which is a University College London project. It's heavy and has so much torque it spins everywhere.

Bad result today...realised I was still feeling the after-effects of Covid and was struggling to breathe so packed it in before lunch

You did really well!!

I’d be hopeless on this, half of my power off-road is from me paddling like a little duck 😂😂😂

All hail the mighty X=Trainer!

My sack of spuds on the back mudguard technique gets ever more refined..

I rode like shite today...panted through my mouth and steamed my glasses up. When I stopped to clean them, a lens fell out!

Hopefully, no-body filmed it!
