I am asking Daz as I saw them at HU I need a chain breaker & thinking of getting, a motion pro 1 as I think it would be of benefit, can use it by the Rd if ever needed or in my Shed changing the Front, Rear Sprockette & Chain.
I have the combined breaker and riveter and it's been used a good a few times. I do grind the heads off the old chain link pins before pressing them out as the whole thing feels a bit fragile. Again when riveting the new link in it feels as if it's about to bend at any moment. In saying that it's never failed to do the job and is still the same shape as new.
I've used a few chain breakers in the past and none of them have been happy unless you do grind the heads off the pins. If I was going to bring a chain breaker with me on the trails, I'd seriously consider bringing a file as well.
