Re: Ireland - Gaps, Leap and Passes
Thanks for the report, heading over to Ireland myself next week. Out of interest, are passenger locator forms still required? I'm going to be entering Ireland from Northern Ireland and departing Ireland over to Wales. It's all a bit mind boggling

Re: Ireland - Gaps, Leap and Passes
A nice route. I have ridden all of them, taken a picnic at all those same places, camped at Eagle Point and definitely recommend it. In fact Ouvane Falls was a client years ago under different ownership.
You definitely got the best of the weather and I must confess I had a loan of an XK 8 years ago and took it across that 'unmarked' road in glorious sunshine.
I was in Cahir on Sunday!!!
Planning a camping trip to Kilkenny next weekend.

Re: Ireland - Gaps, Leap and Passes
Cheers lads
Re the passenger location form - being a resident of Northern Ireland we did not need them - I don't know the score coming over from the mainland - I'm guessing not, but would check with the ferry company you are using? We were asked for proof of vaccine lots of times in bars & restaurants - they were happy with the wee vaccine card you are issued with when you got the 1st jab
Hopefully get a bit more of the report done tomorrow

I still have not sat down inside a bar or restaurant. Last time being 8th March 2020, in Spain!

Re: Ireland - Gaps, Leap and Passes
Great pics Colin
So, Monday 30th & another sunny & warm day. After breakfast we all met up and headed off to the Beara Peninsula and a ride through the Healy Pass. My first time on this pass - a brilliant section of the R574 - if ever a road had been built for motorcyclists then this is it.
From here, as mentioned by Colin, it was on to Kenmare for a coffee and scone. A nice spot to watch the world go by for a bit.

Re: Ireland - Gaps, Leap and Passes
From Kenmare we headed up the N71, through Molls Gap, then left onto the R568, then a right and onto the Ballaghbeama Gap another great road cutting through some pretty dramatic terrain
