What do people carry with them to keep the front wheel off the ground if you need to repair the tube etc? (if on side stand only)
I know if there were 2 of yous one can put their weight on the rear of the bike to keep the wheel off the ground but has anyone made or adapted s prop?

TA :)

on my 640 I carry a length of aluminium bar which goes both under the swing arm to hold up the rear wheel or wedges using a top hat shaped adapter into one of the holes in the sumpguard to hold up the front, this does work in theory but would be my last resort way of holding it up, these bars or whatever are generally referred to as ugly sticks.

Yeah ive seen the hospital crutch bottom put to very good use. Also thought of using a cut down adjustable fishing rod rest they are quite small and light and could sturdy enough!

A few big rocks, stumps of wood or whatever else comes to hand when needed, or I just lie the bike down.

Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.

I am sure I bought an ugly stick from a forum member who makes them a while ago. Obviously you do not need one on a Himalayan as it has one of those clever centre stands.
Cheers Jak
