I have just been told by MCE that multi bike insurance does not give ncd on all the bikes.. just the main one!!
and that it is best to get separate polices, as far as NCD is concerned.

i got 12 years .. but can split it say 9 and 3 for each of the 2 bikes.
the rules have changed



most ins companies only apply 5 years ncd .. even tho they may list 12 years
bennets go to 9 years ncd

when a new policy is taken out .. for each bike, separately .. you can apply what u like to each one, from what u have .. 12 to 6 and 6 for example

the NCD referes to the POLICY not the bike/s

Carole Nash applies my NCD to all 4 bikes. They also gave me an additional discount for placing my car insurance with them.

MCE told me that one of my bikes had 12 yrs and the other nil .. but that I can `split` the ncd??

MCE charged me 400 plus 100 for mthly payments = 500
but now its 75 each on separate polices third party

thought it was too easy !!
the nightmare continues .. Motorcycle Direct say I do not have proof of ncd and now want an EXTRA 101£ on top .. bringing it to 175£
I have sent them all my evidence .. certificates of insurance for 2+ years for the crf .. but Bennetts have not yet got back to me agreeing to a 2/10 split of ncd.
Also the credit company has agreed my insurance finance, which I agreed also, tho not sure if it finalised yet?

I thought the whole point of multi bike was so you could have your no claim spread over all the bikes!

I gave up as multi- bike isn't always cheaper. I have 10 years on my CRF & 3 on my CCM (the best they would mirror)

They will screw you any way they can, all you can hope for is to find the company with the smallest penis

been all morning on the phone to the insurance companies
all three confirm that it is not possible to split the ncd between the bikes on a multi bike policy
so I have had to start at 0 ncd for the crf250
which still only 19£ per month tpo
so not too bad after all


Bennetts, Motorcycle Direct, and MCE all say that the ncd applies to the one policy and therefore one bike only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's madness, mate.

If it's a multi-bike policy then the NCD should apply across the board....otherwise, what's the point?
