A word in praise of the service from Hood jeans

About 3 years ago I decided to buy a pair of armoured motorcycle jeans, straight forward enough for most people but with my skinny ass and 28" waist not quite so simple. I enquired with a couple of manufactures but all said that their smallest size was 30", I phoned up Hood and asked do you make them yourself? yes, can you make me a pair in 28"? yes, and they did at no extra cost.
They fit well and seem to be of a good quality, fortunately I have not had to test their abrasion resistance and hope not to, but if you want a piece of quality clothing, British made, I can recommend them. I presume that they will still do special sizes but have not checked this with them.

Great post Mark. Isn't it bloody fantastic when a company goes the extra mile to help a customer and isn't it so bloody annoying that so few bother to do it.

You've given me an idea, I think there's room on this forum for a 'HERO' category where members can post up 'great' experiences with suppliers, I'll sort it today and transfer this post over as the first.

I've had a pair of their black jeans for several years, and they've done me proud.

I recently decided I wanted some blue ones, before going away for a week on the bike.

Duly ordered, they sent me an email saying they weren't in stock, but would have some within 10 days.

This was cutting it a bit fine for my trip, so they offered me some "seconds", which apparently had a slight flaw, but they would throw in the armour for free!!

Needless to say, I took them up on their offer.

When they arrived I was more than pleased - if they'd been sold to me as perfect, I would have had a hard job spotting the minute flaw in the thread!

Excellent company to deal with!!

As a result of this thread I've now got a pair of Hood jeans and first impressions are good and their customer service is excellent - a real pleasure to do business with.

Where I got my Sand jacket from is now the first place Hood Jeans have had as a separate outlet. The jeans are still made in the UK, but only the camos are made in the original factory in East Anglia, the rest in a factory in the midlands, credit to them for not shipping production out to the far east. In the first week they sold three pairs a day, which in rural Norfolk shows how good these jeans are.
