Just back from our first ABR event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the low key no frills low price approach and the incentive to mingle and make your own entertainment. Have attended HUBB and Mach1 events and hands down preferred the ABR Midlands Rally.
From the warm welcome to the inclusive attitude and generally fashionista free vibe we enjoyed every moment of our brief visit. Now an ABR convert. Am on the forum and paid my mag subs!
Loved the green laning on the Sat (we were 2up on he ThouStrom).
Heres to being part of a great community!

We ride a 2008 thou that I purchased when living in the states '09 and shipped back with me '11. Bit of a love/hate machine but I'm in the love camp!
I did a lot of homework, and opted for the thou as the best 2up machine for long haul overland (which was the original intent) for a number of reasons. Admitedly cost was a big consideration, along with minimal electrickery, comfort, ease of maintenance and good old reliability. The WeeStrom was and is so well respected as an overlander for 1 that I thought the thou was worth a gamble. And it so is.
Sadly the original plan never came to fruition but 14k miles later we have been all sorts of places, including local green lanes and several days off road in the High Atlas.
We'll never win any races 2 up but the Strom is superbly capable and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere.
Realistically some components are probably a little lightweight and may suffer under prolonged off-road use (Im thinking front forks more than anything) but were certainly in the clear at the moment, just Mot'd with no issues... again.
The stroms also been down the road at a good old rate of knots in Spain (and had a few low speed drops too) and with luggage, upgraded hand guards and crash bars has either been 0 cost or low cost to sort out.
No plans to change
Also, took it round the small bike enduro route on the midlands meet... I wouldn't say it was effortless but the bike coped admirably!

Welcome to you both from Derbyshire. You certainly made an impact on your first attendance. Not only did you do the lanes 2 up but I believe it was without any real incidents. Top man award from me and yer pillion Shona deserves a medal and a top lady award too.
