Re: Tyres anyone tried this brand
For a Pyrenees trip a couple of years ago, I had a pair of Metzeler 6 day extremes on my DRZ. Fantastis grip in the loose and the odd bit of mud we found. Fine on the roads to get there. Not a long lasting tyre, but I was expecting them to be.
Not all those wandering are lost

I bought a set of both compounds last week, not fitted them yet but will be using the Mid-Hard's on a 2 week tour of Iceland next month.
I hope they last.
Will give a review when I get back in August.

I've been given a set of Mid-Soft's to evaluate for a local tyre company and they've been used on some local lanes in Surrey this week but not enough to form an honest opinion.
I'm using them in Wales this coming weekend so I'll have a better idea about them after that. I'll post a report next week if you're interested.

Going with Wildcat Adventures.
Did a tour with them to Morocco a few years ago and there are a few of us on this tour as well. I'm on a 690, mate on a DRZ400, several 1200 GS's and the guides are on CRF250's.
It's expensive but for a first timer I think it's better to go with a guide.
Might make a return visit on our own at some point.
A question for you, If there was any difference between your manifest and what was actually on the bike were there any issues?

The locals are great and very willing to help out and so are the other travellers. Petrol available without problems I had a 16ltr tank on my bike.
we camped and I travel light so carried little gear, we only had one cold day and one rainy day if memory serves right.
Scenery is stunning and the vista can be wide open and the space huge, river crossing can be fun and we tried to do early in the day just in case the rivers rose due to ice melt. I used sealskin socks.
Go and enjoy I wish I was going again (thumbs)
