I use a DD hammock double layer with built in mosquito net and a 3 x 3 metre DD tarp hung on the diagonal. It is a great set up and you can easily cover all your gear up whilst wild camping. I use a thermal self inflating mat or sheepskin underneath me as insulation. It is all camoflaged and i just put a few branches and leaves over my bike and cover up the headlight ,tail light and indicators, number plate etc to be extra sneaky.

Never string as hammock up any higher than you would wish to fall if any of your suspension gear fails. I set mine up at sitting height so i can use it as a chair in the evening. The only time i set mine higher is if i am in an area with tell tale signs of wild boar activity. Didn,t stop my mate being flipped out of his hammock by a red deer stag though. :(

My DD Travel hammock has a waterproof base and you can set it up on the floor using your camping mat and basha or tarp set up low so the edges reach the floor. Saying that we have never failed to find a camping site with no trees in France,Spain or Portugal. :)
