Hello All

Post by Wee Jack »

Just joined , I was directed here by Treadtrader who posted details of this site in XRV.org.

I currently ride a 2007 KTM 990 Adventure and a 2000 Suzuki DRZ400. I am now "over 50" , does that make me the oldest here?

I've been riding motorcycles for over 33 years , having passed my test in 1975 on my first bike a Honda CB250G5.

Got into adventure bikes after a couple of Pan European ST1100s , a BMW "K" series , a 650 Transalp, Harley Sportster and more Honda 250s than I care to count !!!

I have had a wee lurk around the site today , liked what I saw and was pleased to join. These places are only as good as the people who join and make constructive posts and comments, so I'm looking forward to being around here and joining in.

Cheers all have one on me.
It matters not what you have or where you take it ........... Every ride is an adventure and every motorbike was built for adventure.

Welcome Wee Jack, I'm hitting the big 50 this year so your oldest crown is still intact, for now. You've also beaten me by a couple of years on the bike test. I passed in the year Bohemian Rhapsody and Saturday Night Fever had our hips swaying, the Commodore Pet and CZ175 were the hight of technology and Bruce Forsyth was only about 80 – 1977.

You're spot on about a site only being as good as the contributors. For my part I'll keep plugging away and in time the hope is we'll build as the word spreads and the site works its way up the search engine ratings. I notice already that we've topped the list for the words 'adventure' 'bike' 'rider'. Not bad for a site in its infancy.

If you've the time it would be great if you could help kick off the motorcycle review section - you'll find listings in place for the KTM and Pan. Speaking of KTM's I notice they appear to be the most popular bike with signed up members and I got my leg over a 990 for the first time on Monday – great machine.
