gents,

on the lookout for cleaning products for the bike. i want to give it a really deep clean before the acf50 goes on,

ive give a good jet wash and soap n water but want to get the tar etc of the timing cover and give the spoked wheels a good clean. whats the foam stuff i have seen on some of the youtube vids

SDoc100 seems to do a good job for me, as well it should given how much it costs. I spray it on, work it into the really grimy bits and pressure wash it off (with all the caveats about using a pressure washer). I've read somewhere that Castrol Greentec is supposed to be just as good but slightly cheaper.

I use a lot of Autosmart products for cleaning the car & bike http://www.autosmart.co.uk with their "tardis" being my choice for tar removal

All year biker (thumbs)

Stuff like Gunk and MucOff etc ,are a rip off! You can do just the same job with household cleaning products,at a fraction of the cost. If you know where to look,you can buy stuff that will work out at pennies per ltr.

To remove tar u can use white spirit on a cloth and rub. once tar softened/dissolved wash the bike in soapy car shampoo. Then treat with acf50

I'll second that just had 4 bikes done. Excellent job well done with no effort from me apart from wheeling bikes out the garage. (Joel would have done that as well if I'd wanted.

The foam stuff you are talking about is probably snow foam. It's good enough but a bit gimmicky. Also it only really removes the surface contaminants that detailers want off before they start to touch the paint.

As far as a bike cleaner goes I use sdoc100. It is excellent. Tardis is quality for tar removal and well worth a tenner in my opinion.
