When the histories are written, I reckon that the conclusion will be that this was the biggest strategic mistake since Hilter invaded Russia.

I'll have been dead a long time before anyone gets to know what really went on in those discussions between Bush & Blair.

I don't actually believe that Blair was a bad person when he first became PM but power corrupted him and he bought friends with the lives of British servicemen and women in his search for further glory.

I expect Chilcot to be a massive disappointment to the general public

be prepared to hear the tiresome phrases "lessons will be learned" and "no single point of blame" and "failures in the intelligence community" over and over again

I have no time for Tony Blair whatsoever and I would love to know what information he really had with regards to the supposedly "weapons of mass distruction". But if I remember correctly the whole of parliament had a free vote on the matter.

He's re-written the bloody thing so many times that it will be dummed down to the thinnest pile of blame dodging we will see in our lifetimes.

He still managed to make it 2.6 million words and as a gesture, he has let the families of our heroes see it 3 hours in adavnce.

Hope they can read quick.

Beg to differ Andy, always thought Blair was a slimy barsteward long before he became prime minister

With mates like Mandelson and Campbell what did we all expect. At least Blair has taken full responsibility - so what now, the Hague? :whistle: I doubt it.

Looks like the blanket brainwashing campaign to soften this into a "lessons learned" exercise is now in full swing. If joe public used the same strategy they would still end up in court.

The man should be in the dock, no question, he lied and people died needlessly as a result!
