Over old Severn Bridge, do a right at Chepstow, head for Monmouth and onto Abergavenny and onto Rhayader. Great campsite pubs and eateries. Good base for ride outs. Can get to most places and back in a day. Do some research on here and other forums, as what to see and where to go. Basically from Rhayader any road is a good un. Enjoy

Check out the ABR castle challenge. Llangollen and Betws-Y-Coed are nice towns.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

The Ancient Briton in Abercrave has a great campsite, and is well placed for touring, we also hold the Taffy Dakar there every May..so they're used to wet muddy bikers...or try Nick Sanders place further north..then again google Pure adrenalin have camping over by the West Coast call 01570 470904 ask for Christine

Baskerville Hall Hotel, Hay on Wye, has a lovely campsite, £6 a night and you get use of the pool and sauna, plus there's a bar. From there ride to Llantony Priory, excellent little adventure
Enfield Himalayan... apparently they're Marmite... not keen on Marmite, but like Vegemite
YBR125... the little adventure steed of awesomeness

Hi Birdie. I am organising a small meet with The Thumper Club and some XT660.com crowd in Llanfairfechan (Nr Conwy) next weekend. You are more than welcome to come along and camp with us if you are in the area. I will be there from the Thursday evening to Sunday.
PM me if you wish and I can give you more details as to where we will be.

Cheers Steve

Check out the website for Gwerniago campsite. Its close to Machynlleth. Nice and quiet, good clean amenities. You can have fires and there's amazing views of the mountains and Aberdyfi estuary.

And - it puts you within easy reach of the mountain twisties of Snowdonia and the fast sweepies of Mid Wales. Stayed there on a ten day tour of Wales - liked it so much we stayed 4 nights instead of the planned two - great! Even got to help round up some errant cows that had absconded from their containment facility!
