Afternoon all,
Everyone's favopurite topic. Finally looking at Bike specific sat navs. But being that i use a autocom i would like it to plug into a 3.5mm lead. What's around at the minute that would allow that. I was looking at the tom tom 410 but that doesn't appear to have it.
I would also like to be able to play my music through it as well for those long runs.

Re: Sat nav's again
I've just fitted the Garmin Zumo 660lm through my Autocom. It does have 3.5 jack and built in MP3 player. I've hard wired mine and am more than pleased with it. Cost me £244 via eBay for a referb. All looks brand new to me.
Re: Sat nav's again
Don't quote me, but the Zumo 660 will soon be dumped by Garmin, which means no backup or updates. I'd go for a newer model if you can.
It depends on what you want the sat nav for? Sounds daft, but.....
Do you plan your routes at home, upload them and then follow them?
Or do you cuff it on the road and just tell the sat nav where you want to go?
I plan all my routes beforehand, then upload them and follow them as best I can.
Garmin Basecamp is the software, and once you get used to it,it's pretty good. The ability to view your routes on Google Earth I find invaluable.

It is but it still works.
Quite a few of the Garmin alternatives don't have a media player, a must for me, until you get to the top end of the range.
The 660 has the added bonus of fitting the BMW mount.

The Garmin 390LM has a 3.5mm audio out jack too. Not sure what it would be like in the rain though unless you have the unit tucked behind the screen.

Yes, the LM after the number stands for Lifetime Mapping. Same with all makes I believe. Yes you can get newer models, but it does everything I want it to.
