Road and trail riding, or just sealed Tarmac roads?
For road riding I'd suggest Bridgestone BT23's as they are a duel compound tyre

I'm planning on doing a 5k trip on my Explorer next month, one up but with too much kit. Currently have Anakee 3's, but wasn't too impressed with the wear on the front, so will be switching back to Anakee 2's.

Have an Explorer and would recommend Michelin Pilot Road 4's (if tarmac only).

I put the PR4's on over a year ago and have about 6K on them so far....they are slightly (and I mean slightly) squared on the rear and the front tread is still good, but I am getting them replaced for another set next week.
Mileage was done loaded for touring (or with my Missus as a pillion). Also some of the roads were in very bad nick.
I found the grip from them in both wet and dry, genuinely, phenomenal.
Hope this helps!!
