Glove Advice Please

Post by bigfoot »

Hi All

after 15 years of faithful service, my Belstaff Thermosport gloves finally gave up last week on our tour of Ireland. The leather has finally worn through.

These have been the perfect glove and now I need to replace them.

They are not an out and out winter glove, nor just a lined summer glove, just sat in the middle somewhere.

So what I am after is

Leather
Armoured
Lined
Mid Season (ie good in most conditions - just not extremes)
Over the jacket cuff

I know it exists because I've had them for 15 years :)

I have winter and summer gloved so please don't suggest those - I just want a good set to wear when I'm not sure what the weather will do

Thanks

I've used all types over the years, most eventually fall apart, last few years been using rukka gloves which tick many of those boxes, plus theve lasted me well. Just be careful on the sizing with them. Lots of reviews out there. I had the Apollo now use the Argosaurus picked them up discounted price and use them all year round. Fingers don't feel restricted in them, and good touch when flicking switches etc. anyway they work well for me.

Just not leather or armoured. Really nice and comfortable gloves though (thumbs)

Try these, not cheap though....but if you keep for 15 years again cost probably isn't a major issue

I can't recommend Richa Cold Protect enough, but they are definately a winter glove, not mid season.

If nothing else I've bumped the thread for you as you haven't had many useful replies.

I use a pair of Alpinestar 365 all year around, warm comfy and enough ventilation for summer.

Tried a XXL set of the Held Air and Dry in the shop, there was some overstitching in the right thumb web, left was fine. Sent for another pair which arrived today, same issue. Have another set arriving on Thursday, hope they are ok as they seem to be a really good glove and will be great for a 3 week touring trip later this month.
