DR350 1998, £1999. NO conection to me.

Post by Mad Hatter »

Went to get a new battery for my dommie today and spotted this:

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-DR350-SE ... nav=SEARCH

Price seem pretty high but very low miles and reasonably unmolested, a few bits of warn off paint and what not but only 3.5k miles

I snapped some pics as well

It really does, and there's and impressive amount of paint worn off the engine cases for a bike that's only done 3.5k

It is in surprisingly poor condition for the stated mileage.... But I suppose the point is more that its in poor condition for a 2-grand bike.

Sellers market though, there is not a lot of dirt bikes around for this sort of money that are not in considerably worse condition!

You'll never be able to work out if it's genuine mileage or not. The condition of the frame, engine cases and non-standard indicators suggest that it's been trail-ridden and so may have just been ridden on the trails and so the mileage could be genuine.

The condition of the tank and some other parts suggests not, how many people bother replacing the speedo straight away when it snaps? I've always got a spare cable as I use the mileage as a guide for oil changes as I suspect most owners do but not all.

A good guide is the condition of the shock, the springs rust fairly quick on these bikes unless you keep them clean and that shock looks very clean.

Is it worth that money? it is if someone desperately wants that bike but I certainly wouldn't pay that much.

One decent very mucky trail riding day could do that amount of frame and case wear, the tank damage could easly be from something dropping on it in a garage (I've done it enough times myself) however 3.5k does seem a little low.
MOT check using the V5 would give a better indication of mileage.
