Windows 10

Installed Windows 10 last night, install finished this morning (I wasn't waiting up for it) and I tried it on returning home from work...

Utter rubbish; the screen went all black along with Icons. Killed some programs' licences and stopped the graphics card upgrade (which MAY have fixed the screen issue.

So, uninstalled it and hopefully stopped it from trying again.

Back to Windows 8 and all the issues have gone.

I am no Luddite, but I can't see the advantage of an upgrade that makes things worse...

So most of you all must have "Confusers", what are your experiences, is it just me?

Upgrades have never worked well, better to have a clean install.

I have win 10 on my laptop and it's fine, but on my tablet it was hideous so I took that straight back to 8. We live and learn.

Did the same to my desktop, pretty much rendered my graphics and sound cards obsolete as it wanted windows 10 compatible hardware with no backwards compliance at all

So I did the same as you and uninstalled it pronto, I'm now back to two screens and great sound (thumbs)

If it ain't broke, etc etc

Installed windows 10 today. After a bit of fettling and re installing Internet Explorer in preference to Microsoft Edge, it seems to be fine at the moment.

Was on windows 7 before and a couple of defective upgrades had corrupted the system and prevented further windows upgrades causing windows to stop working on various websites. appears fine now though.

I was using a laptop recently that I bought in 2003 [not 2013, its 12 years old], it has XP on it and I installed some specialist software on it that runs fine and actually runs quite fast, faster than the updated versions run on Windows 8.1. The secret? It is never connected to the internet so no update hassles and it runs fine. All of the data is transferred to spreadsheets and it quite happily uses MS Office. Best thing of all is that EVERY laptop I bought since this one has died at less than 3 years, apart from one very expensive Dell which lasted 5 years.

I now feel Windows XP and NT are a bit like our classic bikes....simple, easy to fix and reliable to appoint that makes you wonder if it ain't broke why do they keep trying to fix it.

I am bombarded now to update from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

I reckon Windows has to be the best advertisement for Apple.

Tried 10 on my tablet & it went schizophrenic....................ran me ragged wondering what was going on.
Back to 8.1 which is quick & does most things I throw @ it. (thumbs)

Against all recommendations & claims of "totally useless go to 7" I am still running Vista on my US purchased lap top.
It's a bit Alzheimic & decidedly senile off the launch pad ...BUT...it works & when it gets all screwed up I manage to re medicate it back to the way it felt last week.
So f@#k the claims of "it's MILES better than bla bla bla"...................better the devil you do etc.

P.S. 10's that good they are giving it away for free @ the moment

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, never had a problem. In fact, it was too easy.
