CRF250L and green lanes

Hi, Im toying with the idea of a CRF250L for some gentle green laning, I just wondered what experiences the ABR crew can share.

Im not bothered about speed, just enjoying the scenery on a bike that doesn't need rebuilding every 5 minutes.

Hiya
I've had one about a month now for the occasional commute and some local laning and having done half a dozen or so lanes so far (Lincolnshire & Grantham) I'm absolutely loving it.

Building a longish list of kit for the bike (bash plate, hand guards etc) and some for me as I've only really got road kit most of which is about worn out and no longer waterproof. I've been wondering on the personal gear whether to get kit for lanes and kit for road or try and find a one kit suits all approach - a peaked helmet may look a bit odd on my road bike :side: .

Happy to share the list of websites I've found stuff on if you're interested :-)

Cheers
Harv

Thanks for the replays, I'm becoming more tempted. Harvey, I too am factoring in a lot of extras, it might not make economic sense but this would never be a rational decision anyway.

I would be grateful for the list of sites Harvey and thanks for the link PaulH

My new work place sell them and the owners are all very happy with their bikes.

They are not a lightweight enduro bike but being a Honda usually equates to good reliability and resale value so a low risk purchase I reckon.

Regarding riding kit for Green Lanes.
For the winter I use my old textile riding gear, stuff that I've replaced with better quality stuff over the years.
I take any armour out and use Enduro armour underneath.
If you don't have any old kit I'd get a cheap textile jacket and pants off eBay, no point in buying new Branded stuff, just to wreck on the Lanes.

The KLX250S comes out well in that test, having a superior of-road ride
