Maybe, maybe not. New Labour is dead, let's see if this guy can bring young people to politics.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Thank god for the tories- we now see the true face of labour.
Re: Time for the Tories to start the celebrations
It'd be nice to see the true face of the Tories as well rather than the drive towards centralisation where nobody can really tell the difference.
I've said before that even though he seems to be a man who's going to stand true to his beliefs (whether we like them or not) he's never going to win a General Election which means the Tories can pretty much do as they please for at least 8 years.
I shouldn't really care because financially I'm a lot better off with a Tory government but I think they'll split the country into a nation of haves and have nots which just causes problems for everyone.

Bye bye labour and the unions. Come back when you realise its not the 60s anymore.

Just goes to prove that it's the unelected Union Bosses that are in charge of Labour at the moment.
All of them far too arrogant to listen to the message the electorate gave them.
At least they won't get any real power for at least another ten years now or until they remember that it's the electorate that decide who rules, not McClusky & co (thumbs)

The unions had nothing to do with the election apart from recommending a candidate to their members. Anyone could register as a 'supporter' and have the same voting rights as a 30 year member.
The best laugh is that now he's got the job the unions will gain a lot more power when it comes to influencing the Labour party and we'll probably see more frequent industrial action.

Yes those horrible, horrible unions...just like the Germans have, where they've protected their manufacturing jobs and find their economy set fair for the future, preventing them from having to build a future based on bank usury - like we now have to.Mike101 wrote:Bye bye labour and the unions. They really need to remember it's not the 60s, those Germans. Get with the offshoring plan - flog off everything they have to foreigners, and encourage rich, corrupt Chinese and Russians to buy up their real estate.
THAT'S the way to build a sustainable future, eh?

Let's wait till we see him perform at PMQ's before we pre judge the man.
That will show us what he's made of.

I hope the tories don't get all arrogant and start behaving like they are untouchable. It's not good to have no credible opposition, and that's what labour are after today's result. Maybe the Lib Dems will make a come back now.
