Same weight as a XT or there abouts. A no brainer really. My 990 has 37K and still looks and goes superb. Service record a must. As usual on all bikes that get used as they should (thumbs)

Re: Ktm950 prices falling
I bought one without mot last month, I paid £2600, it had a £230 bash plate on it, refurbed and powder coated wheels, twin scorpion cans, pannier rails, brand new tkc80 rear tyre, 24,900 miles, it passed mot with hardly any work, well chuffed so far.
Current bikes...
2003 KTM 950 adventure in silvery blue...
2013 KTM 450 exc-f in orange /white
2007 Scorpa SY250 trials in blue.

Re: Ktm950 prices falling
I'd like to think that mine is still worth what I paid for it but that's probably wishful thinking.
I absolutely love it to bits, just returned from a 3000+ mile ride around Europe, she didn't miss a beat, I didn't even need to add any of the oil I took with me which was a surprise.
They're a cracking bike which are now starting to look like a true adventure bike given the way the market has changed over the last few years. These days it's 130BHP minimum, traction control, engine modes and electronically controlled suspension. I'm not knocking those things but they make my old 950 feel like it's from another time ........
........ a 950 still has a choke lever for fecks sake!!!

Any issues with any models we should be aware of if this post has piqued buying interest?

Re: Ktm950 prices falling
Everything you ever needed to know about the 950 here
In short, the engine is solid.
The waterpump shaft seal is a weak point but easily changed.
Sidestand attached to engine can cause problems - relocator available and most should have been fixed.
Exhausts rot if not cared for (but which don't?).
Clutch slave cylinders are weak - Oberon sell a fix.
Silky smooth carbs compared to FI on the 990...
