well I've got 4 days off work now, so i have loaded my new bike up with camping gear, and ime just about to set off up to glen coe for the night, then tomorrow on to applecross and ullapool, friday up to durness, then back home heading down through the middle of scotland back to thirsk. its only done 200 miles yet so this will run it in ready for a first service, I've got the packing down to a fine art now, I've got enough gear on that little bike to do 2 weeks camping anywhere in europe, i know for a fact I've got enough gear on that bike to keep me safe and comfortable for weeks, theres the same amount of gear on that as I've had on the big gsa with all the panniers, and this is as light as a feather, i think I've made a great choice now.

I'd be interested in seeing all your gear unpacked and/or a list of it all (thumbs)

If that's the OEM exhaust I would find some heat-resistant material to prevent your pack melting from the heat.

Also worried about it slipping sideways.

have a good trip, the loaded bike looks ready for the adventure, me and captain America are heading up on Friday morning with stops at Cumbernauld, drumnadrochit, ullapool, applecross, then home. that bike will do well over the applecross pass, enjoy

As Tim says, be VERY careful with the standard can. Had a couple of close calls with mine and plan to change it asap. Safe trip!
