Ferry to Denmark

Post by malc o »

Not sure if this has been posted before? but the DFDS ferry route from Harwich to Esbjerg that has been cancelled in September 2014, now has a possible replacement.
The prices that are being advertised are quite reasonable, though at the moment unbookable.

Interesting! Unfortunately there seems to be a history of ferry companies promising to start crossings to northern europe, then nowt coming of it...lets hope this one works.

Just had a look at the prices and seem very reasonable, looking at a trip to the arctic roll next summer so hope this crossing is up and running.

The website looks pretty basic at the moment but the fares are pretty much in line with the LD Lines ferry to Spain from Poole, i.e. no frills but way cheaper than Brittany.

DFDS killed that off as well as the ships are old and too polluting for the EU's new rules.

The proposed fares are also way cheaper than the DFDS freight option to Brevik in Norway although that includes meals as well as cabin. Sadly, Tilbury to Gothenburg has bitten the same EU dust.
