the spare part number , or product number, has 10 digits
if its a painted part, it has 13 digits ... the last three digits is the colour code

OK wow, thanks for all the feedback and input.

Yes the bike is from a year where it seems it was only sold on the Japanese market.

As part of cleaning it up I found this. But it's led me nowhere.

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Turns out getting the info was easy though  "E3D" represents a colour combo apparently of "Special White-30H/Iris Purple-Z16".

E30--classic BMW saloon with the original M3 derived from it--had a couple of the saloons including the" mini M3 IS"--still a great design and car!

Do you have a bike that's a keeper ?

I've chopped and changed bikes quite a bit over the years and never really had a keeper. About seven years is the longest I've owned a bike up to now but I've decided that 'Miss America' , my present DR650 is a keeper.

This bike is the best one i've had , lovely engine and great suspension plus it will go anywhere 8-)
