Taller screen for F650gs

Post by Martinl69 »

I'm looking to purchase a taller screen for my F650gs SE to try and reduce buffering. I've seen these on eBay, does anyone know if they're any good?

I've also looked at the Givi and Wunderlich Ergo but they all seem to have mixed reviews. I've read the Ergo moves about a lot at higher speeds.

I've also got Barkbuster hand guards fitted so need to be careful it doesn't obstruct these.

I bought the Wunderlich one (Badged as an Isotta so cheaper) for my 800GS and it was great. It did move a little at speed (100mph +) but didn't break or annoy me. It barely touched my barkbusters on full lock and survived a few falls.

I put a few words together on it here: http://www.elige.co.uk/review/isotta-screen/

On my 800 I bought a Puig screen but ended up selling it because it fouled the bark busters on lock. I went back to the standard 800 screen with the addition of two 20p tap washers in the top two fixings to tilt it forward which works a treat. I believe the 800 screen is taller than the 650.

I had the Wunderlich Ergo Vario and yes, it did flex and buffer at hiher speeds which I found quite distracting. I've now got a Givi and can't fault it; £60 from M and P

I fitted the adjustment device from Touratech and kept the original screen, seems to work fine.

Cheers for the responses, my current screen is the SE version which I believe is the same as the F800 screen (slightly taller than the standard F650 one) but I still get lots of buffering over 70 mph.

I've noticed the newer Wunderlich Ergo Iron Man comes with a brace, presumably to combat the movement at high speeds.

I've narrowed it down to the Ergo Iron Man, Ergo Vario adjustable and the Givi 333dt (half the price of the Ergo!)

Just seen this on eBay, Isotto adjustable.

Thanks, how much did you pay for it and where did you buy from. I've seen them on eBay for £124 sold by M&P which seems cheaper than buying direct from them

Yup M&P on eBay is where I bought mine too. Check with them as I think they may accept it back if you don't like it.
