as the hudders led road rideout lot knew, i helped a suicidal pheasant find god on saturday. unfortunately it was a hen full of unlaid eggs that went off on the front of my bike like a grenade (as i believe fiona also found out on the ride down from scotland).

well, i can tell you, baked on egg yolk is the worst thing ive ever found to clean out of a radiator.

Hmmmm - goes and grabs old copy of RiDE..... Yep!

SDoc helped RiDE out on a recent visor cleaner test by supplying their test goo that simulates dead insects and it was made from egg. Don't bother with using visor cleaner, but have a go with bug splat remover and that should do a better job of shifting it.

Welcome to the club!
Last summer on my way back from the north Norfolk coast I was riding along a road at about 90 minding my own buisness when I spotted a pheasant on the other side of the road, seeing a fast moving bike she decided to run straight across the road and take off about 2 foot before my bike, I felt something hit my leg and thought it was the pheasant, turned out to be the blood and guts of the pheasant!
You can see the mess on the bike and the rad was covered in egg, it takes a bloody long while to clean blood and guts off a hot engine!

They seem to breed very thick pheasants in Norfolk (as an OUTSIDER I wouldn`t dare to suggest that applies to the locals as well!)Had a pheasant skim over my head at 60 and had a partridge hit left hand once, and as for the local deer!!!!!! two ran across the road in front of me the other week and it was definitely an underwear changing moment!

Whenever I see a pheasant I perform an emergency stop.

hi fiona, yes great to meet you hope you got back up there no probs.

well as for the roadkill, i wouldve stopped to make sure the thing wasnt "timmy" and seen if anything was worth the salvage, but the simple fact is i kept going and i think jim&fi stopped to put the beggar down. i just heard a 'BOFFF!' on the front of the bike and a brown puff out of the corner of my eye, i thought pat in front had kicked up a lump of dry sheep poo. and no, i wouldnt have wanted it in my face!
