Sorry we were late...

Post by Lizzie »

After weeks of planning (and weeks of waiting for the new exhausts to arrive for XTs), the exhausts & new springs were duly fitted, bikes were serviced and we were ready to set off Friday morning. :cheer:

10 mins down the road we discovered our lovely sounding new exhausts were melting the number plates & the scottoilers so it was back home (through the long queue at the road works.

So instead of a leisurely drive in the sunshine the next 2 hours were spent stripping out the melted Scottoilers & replacing the now warped number plates! :(

But we got there in the end and a good weekend was had by all.

It was good to meet so many riders from the forum and put faces to names (or avatars!) and the extended tour of Penrith & Carlisle A&Es with a suspected broken thumb was an experience! Thankfully its only damaged ligaments and didn't stop me riding too much

Looking forward to the next gathering and will work on my steep rocky descents in the meantime!

Hope you all had a good ride home

Hope the the thumb is soon back to normal for you

I think you did fantastic on the 'off road' stuff....and now you have a fall under your belt, you can claim to be a proper adventure biker :)

Compliments to your mechanic as well, they were 2 well turned out bikes you had

Adventure motorcycling is a challenge for those who go but only a dream for those who stay behind.

Very nice bikes, look great together.

Never mind, you're not the only one to do that! Fiona's GS has melted two number plates! (Her Scottoiler survived but isn't the healthiest thing!)

Good to meet you both and chat. Take care and we'll hopefully see you again.
Honda, the power of dreams.
