Pretty much essential for the RSV.

They do work well.

Step-up stands for the Beta and GasGas, and the KTM has a centre-stand...very old-school.

Just waiting for summer to get the RSV out...oh, hang on...

so .. today, although feeling knackered from recent gardening, I got a stem raiser for the forks of my ktm Emtb.
Halfords referred me to Amazon.. and it came the next day !!

I'd taken a chance as ther were no measurements given, and i doubted that it would fit a ktm.
But it fitted perfectly, and raised my handlebars by 2 inches or so.
Mine gott .. it was perfect .. and the difference was tremendous. ... Much easier and nicer to ride.

Went out on my first Ebike ride since the beginning of the year ..... I had forgotten how fab an experience it is .... made better by my up-lifter lol

Ooh Gary, that makes me wince. Im getting on a bit now and dont ride half as hard as I used to on the MTB or the motorcycle but Id still not trust a stem riser. I suppose its ok on canal towpaths and such but...ooo shudder

P.S. getting 2" might be hard but a higher bend bar and angled stem would be a lot stronger (cost a lot more though )

PPS..I bet you'll have to readjust your headset soon

It's not like I'm doing anything Really dangerous.. like flying a small personal aircraft.. or anything.

Cost? .. yep .. less than £10 ..
Safety? .. yep .. full confidence.
Fit and Looks .. yep .. brilliant.
Satisfaction and Ergonomics? .. yep .. brilliant.

I'm certain that most people underestimate the gripping power of a clamp on a tube. I remember changing something on my motorbike forks, and placing them temporarily I a certain position. When I came to move them, from a light tweet position.. it was impossible and I had to fully undo the clamp.

Main navigation is my old Garmin, Zumo 595
It is hard to get accessories for that old model. But I was able to find a mount and a protector.
So I can keep on using it. As long as it works.
The bike already had a nice extra bar to us for mounting.

Power supply to be connected to the battery.
i replaced the battery, that was week. And added a connector for CTEK charger,
While I was in that area.

Additional navigation:
Old Android phone. That is no longer used as "normal phone"
I had an app. But the app could not read new maps. And the app could not be upgraded due to too old Android version,
And Android can't be upgraded due to HW limitations...

But google maps works. And I have downloaded quite some maps. So that I can use it without data connection.
I use a new waterproof holder from Shad

And now I thought that the bike was ready, Time to fix camping stuff and myself....
And get ready to leave. Towards Spain...

I took a test ride yesterday.
All went well.
The bike was good. My hand not so good, but it works.

Time to prepare for take off.
But this is how it looked this morning:

It was easy to see the reason. Screw

The tire is brand new, I would like to repair it, if it is possible
I have a repair kit.

I see different opinions.

* That this is an emergency solution. To get to the work shop.
* That there is no problem to ride with a repaired tire

* or something between. That the tire needs to be examined by a workshop. And repaired from the inside.

What is the opinion from this expert group ?
It is a 250 cc, 30 hp, 175 kg tarmac bike.
Not a 175 hp sport bike that will travel 250 km/h
Or a bike that will jump outside roads

It's a clean hole in a good location. There seems to be no damage to the tire carcass structure. I've plugged holes like this few times without any issues.

Legally, I think it's OK to repair all except V and higher rated tyres...irrelevant on a 125.
It's in the area where a repair is legal. If you are satisfied with the quality of the repair I'd just forget about it and ride.

I got the same type of information from a person that is experienced.
He organize tours, fix bikes and sell tires.

He says that he has repaired many holes like this.
And used the tires without problem.

It is OK since it is a round hole from a screw, He says that if it is more like a crack from a stone, the crack can continue,

The tire is now fixed according to all instructions. No leakage so far.
I will ride on.
