Bonnie adventures.......................

Post by snowr2802 »

Tired of all the chrome doing nothing but dulling in the garage!
Gotta get out on my Hinckley T100 more! GS needs a rest! ;)
Saw 2 fully loaded in the Picos last summer so I know they can be made good for the distance!
Looking for anyone out there who may be regular user of the Bonneville, and the best mods / changes for longer in the sadlle rides for me and the good lady on't back! (thumbs)
Already got screen, King/ Queen seat and Tors silencers (sonds like real bike not an XTZ1200! :) )
Suspension is the biggest pain, British design at it's best, - so any ideas / parts galdly welcomed!
And if ever I should not reach where I am expected, and commenced that journey on a motorbike, wherever destiny finds me I will be content!

XTZ1200 - the mutts

Kawasaki ER250 Scorpion - the dog of the garage

Garelli Concorde 50cc - every biker should have one! :-)

Hello mate,

I've got a 2006 Bonny, had it for the past 6 years and have put over 36,000 miles on it. Some of the best improvements for handling were Hagon rear shocks, and progressive springs in the front forks.
I've added some Norman Hyde pipes cause they sound great and rear racks to take Givi panniers. Also a tank cover too. There's not much I haven't done to it and though I enjoy riding other bikes, its still my first choice for distance riding.

Hope these pics come out ok....
This is the most recent one, powdercoated wheels, rear side and top givi rack, NH pipes, bellmouth, K&N, rear shocks and progressive springs, M bars, heated grips, 2 x lighter sockets, now has added rigid industries front lights, reloacted rear brake piston...blah, blah, blah....

Godspeed, many thanks and well impressed! Loadsa bits I'll have to convince the Mrs that will be needed!
Nice to hear from someone who's covered the distance so I know that the machine's well capable!
So, really is the shocks then, with the state of the roads at the mo it'll be sooner rather than later!
At the NEC saw Hagon, reckon about £300 for springs and shocks, do like the sound of the Tech Parts ones mentioned by Tigerman1962 above, for £100 sounds worth a try!
Thanks again,
Dick Snow.
