My 6 year old boy is at a private school. Not because i am a snob or have loads of money. His school gives him a sense of respect for others and an understanding of his actions upon others.

I live 2 mins walk from a primary school and it would seem to obvious choice to send my boy there...easy and free as well.

But when i see the kids walking to and from each day it became ver clear that i did not want my son to learn some 4 letter words just yet, to learn how to spit the furthest, how to wear a hoody nor how to use a Zippo correctly.

Most of the parenst do the best they can and the vast majority of kids are great and well mannered but all it takes is one to start the rot.

Kids are naturally drawn to other kids that seem to flout the rules...isn't that what a large part of hollywood is all about...being bad?

At my sons school any such behaviour is stopped straight away.

Also i have found that my boys behaviour was being dictated by what TV he watched..obvious i hear you scream... well you might think that TV shows for his age group on the BBC would be safe to watch...wrong.

So my son after watching a BBC aired TV show now thinks it's funny to bend over in public, pull down his pants, let rip in a very loud way and then say as loud as he can "oh thats better"...yes you can imagine it!

So now he watches the discovery channel with me. Last night he learnt how cheese graters are made....well he liked it.

Stuff all this adventure bike stuff...kids are the greatest adventure of all.

The removal of physical punishment from schools is only part problem with the culture of today.

The 'P.C' Brigade, Human Rights Groups etc, etc, have a lot to do with the way society is currently...Bloody do gooders........But for who's benefit??? Long gone are the days when you could give a 'clip around the ear' without repercussions.

but in my time, if you were insulted by some punk in a pub, you could teach him a lesson in respect with you fist, and the punk would learn from it, so he would
