Personally I would go and buy another Triumph, I just love the triple engine. Plus I try to buy British and keep some British workers in a job.
I am not sure whether it would be the 1200 or the 800 xc's, because I'm mainly a road rider, if I was doing more dirty I think I would go and look at a KTM, I followed one down a road a while back and it went really well especially as it had a good pilot on it.
So first choice Triumph.

cheers Spud ;)

I'm currently on Triumph Tiger 885i.....my dream bike would be the 1200 Explorer. Simply because I love the triple engine. In terms of performance, I think (nowadays) there isn't much to choose between the GS / Tiger / Multistrada / Tenere etc. So it kinda comes down to the engine you prefer, styling etc.

For me it isn't necessarily about badge loyalty, I've had BMW's, Honda and Yamaha....but the Tiger is my most preferred bike.

I own one of these bikes, the Super Tenere, but none of them interest me for my next bike because I want to downsize to smaller and lighter, but still have enough power on the road.
The XT 660 doesn't have enough power for me, so i'm hoping Yamaha will use their new 800cc triple engine in a dual sport that will give me a bike between my S10 and the 660.

Try the Honda Crosstourer. The ballistic engine is main feature.
The suspension is harsh but can be tweaked and the small screen can be changed/adapted.
Build quality is probably the best of the bunch if that lights your fire.
Try the DCT. The owners adore them.
The only other one i rode when i was trying to choose was the Tenere 1200 but it was underpowered.

I'd go for the Ducati or the Guzzi...just to be a bit different.
