Boil Rally Bring & Buy Sale in aid of CurryAid

Post by Mark1961 »

This is not my Idea. This belongs to Spud (AKA Redmurty) I’m just reminding all you good people.

The Idea is, you bring any old or unwanted gear, bit's etc to the Rally then on Saturday/Sunday morning we collect them altogether in the communal area (green hut) and sell them on. All money raised will go to Paul & Maria’s charity for the orphans in India.

You will all agree a very worthy cause.

So have a good spring clean now, get sorting your kit and list what you have here. This will give us an idea of how big or small this will be.
Remember it maybe junk or unwanted to you but to the children it’s a future and a quality of life.

(Note: Paul I am happy to over see this as I know you and Marie have enough on your plate.)

Mark, please don't think I'm trying to hijack your thread, but in a similar vein but slightly different fund raising angle, Paul has agreed to let me auction a 1st copy of the ABR magazine at the rally, with the proceeds going to Curry Aid.

Cheers,

Steve T

PS - if the winner of the auction is really keen, they might like to get the mags author to sign the copy . . . .for a small fee to charity  ;)

There you go Alun, another job for you . . . . . . sign writing :P ;)

Both very good ideas. I'm sure I've got some surplus kit about the place.

Well, I thought I'd bring this one back to the top of the listings and include a picture to get people thinking about bidding for this at the Boil . . .

A big thank you to all those members of the forum who donated items for the sale and a big thank you to members who bought items. We raised over £86 with some kit still left over.

This will be sold at other bike rallies that are being held at the camp later this year.

Talking to Maria this morning, she said that the money raise will help feed 300 kid for a week at the orphanage.

So well done everyone... :)

You can add another £100 to that for some bits that Dubber68 has promised me but had no space to bring them up at the weekend. I'll drop a cheque in when I call round for that copy of your rather excellent book that you signed for me. ;)
