Ramblers really do think the world is theirs.

Was out for a bimble today and was travelling along a main A road when a group of ramblers wanted to cross. The lead idiot just stepped out in front of traffic waving his walking stick to get the fast moving traffic which includes lorries to stop and have me the dirtiest look when I shook my head at him. He must have had a death wish as traffic had to stop quite abruptly.

I'm surprised he managed to get to what was evidently retirement age with such a blatant lack of common sense.

I hope you weren't going over 25mph and that you switched your engine off when you'd stopped. We've got to be careful or we'll lose the use of these valuable rights of way if we upset the ramblers.

Alternatively you could have given him such a torrent of abuse that he had a heart attack.

I know which approach I'd choose ;)

In fairness, I do come across some that are friendly and appreciate manners but I see more that look at you as though you've just raped and pillaged their mothers.

I am a walker myself and use rambler as a special description for that sub group of outdoor enthusiasts who seen to believe themselves a cut above. I have encountered this behaviour when walking as well when they will take up the whole path as a group and you are expected to get out of their way.
