May sound bizarre - but there are loads of them dotted around Europe as war memorials...

There is even one here in the UK, a Sherman Tank at Torrcross Cornwall; which I believe is a memorial to the American soldiers who drowned when they were attacked by a German U or E boat off the Cornish coast while practising for the Normandy landings.
I understand that the beaches are very similar in nature, which is why they chose it.

Ok, I can manage a couple of them, Fiona told me to go up to the Lossie rd for a pic with the old Buccaneer but I've a couple military pics here already!
One from the past and one from,,, well,,, the past but only last yr!

Sherman at the Arnhem museum. Excellent place if you're anywhere near - underground bit is well worth the small fee !
