Guy Martin, How Britain Worked

Post by Tyrant68 »

On Ch4+1 now.
(missed the original ch4 8pm :blush: )
Always entertaining and his views on the Industrial Revolution
"The trails of the world be countless, and most of the trails be tried.

You tread on the heels of many, till you come where the ways divide.

And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....

....Bid good-bye to sweetheart, bid goodbye to friend, The Lone Trail, the Lone Trail, follow to the end.

Tarry not, and fear not, chosen of the true;

Lover of the Lone Trail, The Lone Trail waits for you"

I like to watch engineering programs?!? Is it just me but I have always wished I had done blacksmithing as a job, even now I wish there was a way to volunteer as an apprentices.

This show was excellent. I love Guy Martins programmes. He doesn't need to read off a script like the other numpties they get on these engineering programmes. His background as a truck fitter and bike racer makes him ideal. I also love his personality and he loves getting his hands dirty!! I wonder if that was real engine oil he used for his bacon and eggs, lol...
