Fractured C7 vertebrae skiing last week. I’m up and about now, after a few days looking at hospital ceiling tiles. There’s a lot of numbness in my right arm and thumb, index and middle fingers. I realise that I got off extremely lightly here and am lucky to have a supportive family around me.

I face six to eight weeks in a brace. No sports for three months.

Does anyone have experience of this?
Will the numbness fade?
When will I be able to put a heavy lid on my head and bounce off down Devon’s pot-holey roads on a bike?

Many thanks
