Re: CRF250 L thread
the best way is to cut the stand through about 3 inches above the foot but below the spring attachment, then find/fettle a piece of solid rod that will go INTO the tube--and wiggle about until you have the right length. All you have to do then is run some weld around the two joints between the original stand and the rod and tidy up with a grinder. May not be the prettiest--but will be solid as the welds are only fixing the length.

Re: CRF250 L thread
Morning all,
My CRF is due its first big service, to preserve the warranty do I have to take it to a Honda Dealership or can it go anywhere that stamps the book?
Cheers
Bren

Re: CRF250 L thread
Hi Bren. The guy that sold my Rally to me moved from the main Honda dealer to a Suzuki/Kawasaki dealer recently. I was having a chat with him about servicing and he said that as long as the dealer is VAT registered and uses Honda parts, there will be no problem with the warranty.

Fitted a rim lock to rear tyre of crf250L today.
didnt think it would need a rim lock as the power is so low.
but the scraping of the tube side, due to tyre slip, caused a puncture.
(there is no protective slip movement now the spring clutch is removed)
Solved the problem of fitting the rear wheel
to the swing arm
(the spacers were slipping out, and I couldn't
get the second one in)
take the chain off, or remove out of the way, but placing it so it will fit on later
take the brake pads out
tie up the brake metal-mounting-plate to its position
use a long big screwdriver to put partway through the axle hole
put the first spacer in position
pull the wheel back as far as possible
slip the second spacer in from the REAR of the swing arm
twisting the wheel as needed
