The Lady that was running the Cabana, gave me tips on a river very close.
That should be a nice place to visit.
An offer not to refuse.
It was no more than 15 minutes to ride.

Pictures over the river:

And so much nicer than a shower and a pool.
A bath in the river.
Sweat and dust washed away

THis was an area both for recreation and work.
They were digging and collecting material.
I asked them if they were searching for some valuable matierial.
But it was to be used for road building.

One Honda XRE 300
Two Indian made 200 cc bikes.
WIth two people on each bike.

The couple on the Hnda had started from Medelllin at 5 in the morning. For a 6 hour ride, to avoid some of the heat.
And spend the weeken at the Cabana.

It was so nice, that I stayed two nights. A new tour to the river next day.
And an evening in a small town 2 km away.
Plaza with restaurants and shops around
People sitting outside and doing nothing. Drinking coffee and watch other people.
Just haveing a good time.
I had a dinner outdooors and sat there for quite some time.
We should learn from this pura vida.

The ride to Salamina took 2 days. The first to Fresno. Not much to say.
But the road from Manizales for Salamina offered some really nice views.

Salamina. The city 1

Salamina is Colombia's best-kept secret. Tucked away in a far-off corner of the coffee region, the beauty of Salamina is a sight to behold. The town itself is situated on the peak of a mountain, with entire streets sometimes appearing as if they are about to slide off the side of the mountain. Once you enter the town, we see why it has earned national heritage status. Houses climb the sloping streets with each one seeming determined to outdo its neighbours

We arrived in Cali without any problems.
After a little more than 2 months and around 8 500 km
The odo on the Himalayan is a bit over 31 000 km.
It has done an excellent job. We have grown together.
I will miss her.

Maybe i should write some summary and conclusion. But....later.
For now.
  • Old men can also travel. 66 years it not an excuse.
Thanks to those that have followed my adventure.
