Craig, how well do you know the landlord at the Britain? The Wales v Ireland 1/4 final is on at 6am Saturday morning, I've just got to see this game.

I have to pull out of the Welsh as I'm resting my damaged shoulder before a long ride I have coming up. A numb arm isn't great for long distances!

I've taken myself off the event register, teacher.

Have a great one y'all!

He's a personal friend, I'll find out if they're opening for butties anyway, worst case you can call up and watch it with me - I'm only 4 miles away and will be up of course!

It's a bit Loose, I have 2 guys calling in to take rides locally, I'll ask what time they were planning to go out - was kinda assuming mid morning

Do bear in mind my front room won't hold 50 of you buggers, I'm limiting it to Alun and personal friends only!!

SteveB wrote:Hi,

Put my name down already, but thought I'd mention something in passing.

I have an old DR650 and GS12.

I want to bring the DR650 to Welsh Wales as I don't think its ever left the county of Yorkshire.

Thing is - and I hope this isn't a problem - I'm part way through converting a LWB sprinter to a glorified tent with the capacity to carry a bike in the back.

I want to bring the DR down in the back of the van And then sleep in the van.

Is this OK ? Will I be able to park it up somewhere ?

On the plus side - it can always be used to transport any damaged bikes. AND I think it will have the capacity to store essentials for the weekend (beer, wine, Pimms and lemonade)

If the vans a no no - then I'll leave the DR at home as I don't trust it for long motorway miles and bring the beemer.

Cheers

Steve
No prob with any of that arrangement, plenty of space

Re: ABR Wales Rally - Ted SImon and trail rides - a schedule of sorts

Post by dragonwheels »

Last Call, only a couple of Ted Tickets left for the talk at Touratech - almost certain there'll be none available on the day - so don't moan if you don't book - I will as promised be bringing him to the Rally around 3.30 pm. Talk aiming for a 5.30 start finish by 8pm

I suggest the trail rides (there should be 2 guides) should kick off at 11.00am and another at 1.00pm, I may be able persuade the guides to take one out Sunday morning too. Not sure what Time Alun is taking the Rhondda Safari out though...

IF you're sat navving, I can give you waypoints to plot that will give you a fab road ride out anyway

Find out if you dont mind please. Nothing worse than not knowing plans, or having un prepared riders waiting

eg

Timings,
fuel stops en route (Im sure a few will be dry after travelling down)
any places to buy food / drinks en route
type of terrain / bikes able to ride (Im sure some riders will have road biased tyres)
distance to cover

etc etc
