Just back from a very fine day at the Festival of Motorcycles in Peterborough. Got to take a closer look at Phil Weston’s 148k mile Tiger and the Ironbutt UK stand, and test rode a Ducati Multistrada 950 and a KTM 1290 Adventure S. The Multistrada is a great looking bike and fun at high speeds and revs, but the 1290 blew me away with its engine and handling and beast-like fun. Also saw some great bikes brought by visitors, and an exquisite Dakar Rally bike at the Rally Raid stand. A fun day— and I didn’t buy a Yamaha 100 classic for £950 even though it was extremely tempting. For lunch, flat track racing, pork and chips... My 1090 R is safe for now!

Nice ride down to the Ox Drove, all the way to Salisbury and then back along Compton Down. 135 miles.
Note to self, test the depth of water out first before you cross a long ford
