Have space in the garden for (smallish) tents, spare roomm, garage and tools, beers in fridge and a pub 100 yards down the road! Just north of the South Downs and about 25 miles from Portsmouth ferries.

I agree, I reckon we should sticky this thread.
Why? Why not?

I'm happy to "sticky" this thread.

But we need a good idea to make it work.

Maybe a mobile number that can be available to members and diverted to whoever is on "duty"?

This would only work with enough volunteers.

If anyone has a good idea, pm me a phone number for a chat.
Contact email [email protected] or pm.

is it possible to have a map be it uk or the Europe linked to google so people can see where everyone is that offers their services?

I do think 24 hrs notice would be a good idea for a night stop over..and yes a mobile contact number as people dont always check emails or pm`s..maybe a text service would be good..above my level of intelligence though  ..

maybe have coloured markers on the google map..one for stopover the other for sevices etc.

How about a link to peoples avatars only when members are logged on to display info..

Excellent idea, bikers for bikers.Garden with room for 4 possibly 5,concealed off street parking, tools, recovery van within 30 miles outwith woking hours, friendly dog that likes to sniff everything!twenty mins from Dundee forty mins from Perth
As has been said a map with stop overs plotted at the nearest junctions possibly a mobile no.Then its up to the tourer to plot his route and take note of locations and and numbers just my suggestion.

I would happily put contact details on the map but it would have to be only accessable with your forum password or good security system and only when you have reached a decent number of posts say 50 or something. To stop details being lifted.

I also certainly wouldn't put my exact location on the map instead some where a mile or so away where I could meet someone looking for a night stop and guide them to my place.

I know this is putting a negative spin on it, but I don't want my location available to bike thieves and my phone number sold to marketing agencies.

I've always got space at mine for an overnight tent, 5 acre field.
Just north of Angouleme France, 5 miles off the N10, for those heading for Spain
I also wouldn't want the address on open forum though.
