I would be on tip toes on mine, have to lean it over to get off the bike, perhaps shell should have a small bike policy and a tall bike policy (thumbs).GB wrote:If I could fill my 701 up while still sitting on it I'd be well pleased

But you haven't disagreed, or presented any evidence to the contrary, you've just made a personal attack.boboneleg wrote:That's right Ralph, everyone who doesn't agree with you is a knob
If you have a counter argument, or can present evidence that sitting astride a bike while filling has caused X amount of injuries then please present it.
Disagreeing is great, resorting to personal attacks instead, are the actions of a knob.

All relies on someone spilling fuel. So according to the petrol companies we're all incapable of filling up whilst sitting on the bike without spilling it? What makes a spillage more likely while sat astride than standing alongside? Granted standing alongside allows you to run away, but run away from what? Fires are EXTREMELY rare. Your probably more likely to be hit by a bus crossing the road.AlanHolt wrote:Forecourt rules
Also says evidence is presented, but doesn't say what the evidence is. Uses an image in justification from that same one YouTube video we've already seen on this thread. All the millions of motorbikes filled up around the world every day, Is this one incident really all we've got?

I have no observations whatsoever about shell and their rules, I just wanted to make it clear that there is no point disagreeing with you as YOU are always right

Move to Catalunya, where you regularly see people filling up a car/bike or half dozen petrol cans with a fag in the mouth and a phone to their ear.-Ralph- wrote:All relies on someone spilling fuel. I still find it insane that you can do what the hell you like at an unattended filling station, but the minute there is someone sat behind the counter, all these rules come into play that only affect the customer.
