Day 13ish.
Today we prepare to ride through Hell, obviously stopping for the obligatory photo opportunity.
Turning off the E6 again onto the E39, taking in a few Atlantic fjords and a couple of ferries towards Andalsnes.
and we've not had lunch yet!

Depending on your route south, try to get from Lote to Stryn, on the E39 at the entrance to the Ferry across to Sundane, turn sharp left at the ferry entrance. This little lane goes 41km toward Stryn, FV698, now being named as the Panorama Road.

I think it is better than the Alantic Coast, maybe it doesn't have a curved bridge but the views and altitude changes are fantastic.

Re: Norway 2016
Must correct you there Scuba. Just got back from Norway this evening after 16 days of superb weather. Last weekend up at the Nordkapp the temperatures were in the low to mid 20's. Of the 5,500 miles ridden, only needed lightweight waterproofs for no more than 2 or 3 hundred miles in total. One hundred plus of those were in Denmark and Germany yesterday afternoon.scubabiker wrote:im planning my trip back east from oslo, going to leave friday and the weather is all predicted to be rain rain and more rain, buggery, summer is over it seems!
Re: Norway 2016
Me too with the good weather, 5000 miles uk to arctic circle and back, 15mins rain near Antwerp, nothing from there to Norway, one light shower end of day with overnight rain, near Narvik for Lofoten. Nothing else until I got back to Germany on my last day but then I got two weeks rain in that last day, horrible after leaving Denmark all the way back to Kent before rain stopped. Great holiday

Good writeup (thumbs)
Quick question - how do the ferry services work in Norway? Do they provided a regular transfer between certain hours whereever you show up or is it independently everywhere? Tried their local ferries website but it seems to work properly only in Norwegian

The ferries between the ends of the krinkly bits run as frequently as it takes to get across the fjords and back again, during normalish working hours, we just missed one and only had to wait 30 minutes at the most, the unloading and loading takes a matter of minutes. You pay once you're on board.
You've reminded me that I've not finished this report, I'll post some more pictures, including some of the ferries when I next get access to the other computer.
